In a former career as an Army Officer serving in Afghanistan, Kieron made a promise to himself that when he returned he would go on to do whatever work he wanted, without too much consideration of the financial return but focused on following a passion.
After travelling to the South of France to the vineyards of Domaine Treloar for the harvest period, he decided to enroll at Plumpton College on the two year wine production course. Whilst there, he worked for the Rothschilds and Waddesdon Wine under MD Christopher Campbell, who showed him what world of wine sales involved. By this stage, it was clear that he was bitten by the wine bug. However, it was in production – growing the vines and making the wine – where his passion lay.
With this in mind, Kieron took on Renishaw Hall vineyard as his own project – Renishaw Hall wine is now selling all over the country, winning national and international awards and being sold into major retailers.
Kieron started working with Murphy and Son back in 2015 as a customer and shortly afterwards became part of our team as our dedicated wine consultant and guides customers through all the nuances of wine and winemaking.
